Convenience is probably the most appealing part of supplementation. After all, before we had supplements, any nutrients you wanted to get had be from the kitchen. Now, not only can you support your growth on the go, but you can even substitute the occasional meal!

Quest Bars claim to be the leaders in the protein bar industry. But is this just an attempt to cash in on the supplement/fitness craze? Or are we really looking at the future of protein supplementation?

Taste and Texture:

One of the biggest issues that protein bars run into is the artificial flavors that they usually have. Even the most seasoned of athletes can only eat so much of a disgusting food before they move on. Thankfully, the Quest Bars don’t run into this issue. In fact, most people find these bars to be pretty tasty. Our particular favorite is Chocolate chip cookie dough (so good), but cookies and cream is a close second.

In terms of texture, the bars are a bit thicker than your average candy bar (but not by much, actually). Chewing on these bars is not too taxing; definitely not as intense as some of the more generic protein bars we’ve had to try (some of them felt like chewing on leather; not fun).

Value:

During our Quest Bars review, we found that there was only one thing that turned some people off about these bars; they can get a bit pricey. If you only eat one bar a day (which is what they recommend for most people, actually), it should cost you about $2.00. But if you’re just too busy to sit down and eat properly and you use these to try and compensate for that, it’s going to get a bit more expensive.

The best price we found for a box of 12 bars was $23.95 at IllPumpYouUp.com.

Effectiveness:

There’s no way around it: these bars work. Ignoring the fact that they taste great, let’s just look at their ingredient list. Each bar has 20 grams of protein with only 160 calories; pretty impressive. But one our favorite things about Quest Bars is that they give you 17 grams of Fiber per bar. That’s a huge deal for us. Since we’re such huge believers in being healthy, we value any supplement that understands the importance of having a healthy digestive system.

Side Effects:

Nothing really going on here; if you have issues with lactose, you should know that these bars are made with whey protein. Also, stay away if you have peanut allergies because these are manufactured in a facility that processes peanuts and tree nuts.

Quest Bars – Our Verdict:

These bars are easily one of our favorite supplements. In terms of convenience, the Quest Bars definitely deliver. When it comes to effectiveness, there’s no denying that these bars are high-quality supplements that any fitness enthusiast could incorporate into their diet. If you’ve been looking for an alternative snack or just another way to get some more protein into your diet, these bars are for you.
