I'll Pump You Up

There has always been a general rule for choosing bodybuilding and fitness supplements like protein bars – if you cannot understand the label, don’t buy it! That’s what makes the Pure Protein Bars, from Pure Protein, one of the best products you can find in stores today. The product isn’t just a regular protein bar either – it has a list of vitamins and minerals as long as your arm and ensures that you only get the best of what you need.

There aren’t too many great protein bars out there with those that are effective hitting poor marks in taste, and vice versa. However, our Pure Protein Bars review may have thrown up a few different aspects that makes this bar one you need to look out for.

Taste and Texture:

Protein bars are constantly improving in taste and Pure Protein Bars are amongst the better ones out there today. There are a few flavors that have really impressed us, like Peanut Butter Caramel Surprise and Chewy Chocolate Chip. Most of the chocolate-based flavours, including Chocolate Peanut Butter and Chocolate Deluxe, taste great. The fruit flavours can feel artificially flavored, and are generally a bit lower down on people’s preference list.

If you are looking for a great protein bar that feels rich and chunky to bite into, Pure Protein Bars will check every box. These bars may be slightly small in size but they are quite chewy and substantial to bite into. At times, some of the flavours like the S’Mores come with real bits of marshmallow and that adds to the texture even more. There is no other way to explain this but these Pure Protein Bars don’t just feel like protein bars, they let you know what protein bars should feel like!

A large part of the value, of Pure Protein Bars, comes from where you are buying it. While the average cost of these bars is about $2.49 per bar, you can buy a pack of 12 for about $24.88. There are several other ways you can lower that cost and, at times, some people have also managed to buy them at $12 for a pack of 12, at their local supplement store. Even for those who cannot find such bargains, the Pure Protein Bars are a relatively decent buy considering the kind of value they provide.

The best price we found for a 18 bar variety pack was $23.55 at Amazon.com.

One of the first signs that a protein bar is working is it fills you up nice and well. You feel satisfied and that, the Pure Protein Bar, does to perfection! There are over 31 grams of protein in each bar and even if you are unable to fit in a proper meal, these bars supply enough protein to keep you going for a considerable amount of time. You also get a nice burst of energy thanks to the 28 grams of carbohydrates. What’s more, these bars combine whey protein with soy protein, ensuring that you get more than one type of protein source to stretch out the absorption period.

There are a few things that you will notice – the first thing is that there is bit more fat content (8 grams) in these bars compared to most others and the other thing is the micronutrient profile. There are 18-different vitamins and minerals in this bar and they really give you that overall boost you are looking for. Despite their wonderful nutrient profile, they are not a meal replacement bar and should not be treated as one.

However, if you’re heading to the gym later in the day and have no time to squeeze in your regular meal, you might want to have a few of these in your pockets.

Side Effects:

Now, protein has the potential to create a few digestion issues, when it comes to proper absorption. When you consume protein supplements, the possibility of getting an upset stomach becomes higher, for people who are sensitive to this macro nutrient. Despite 3 grams of fibre in every bar, some consumers may struggle with the stomach-upsetting properties of the Pure Protein Bars but, once again, these side effects are rare and tend to affect those that have a higher sensitivity to dairy products.

If you do encounter any kinds of side effects, make sure you consult a medical professional before continuing with the supplement.
