Universal Nutrition is no stranger to success. The Animal Pak is easily the most popular multivitamin for weight lifters on the market, with few competitors even daring to challenge their reign. The Animal brand is trying to expand once again with the Animal Stak, their new testosterone booster.
Is Animal Stak another high quality supplement from a respectable company? Or are we seeing another example of a good company producing a sub-par product?
Ease Of Use:
Obviously, taking pills isn’t a complicated issue. However, they can be pretty annoying and Animal Stak doesn’t exactly make it simple for you. They ask that you take one pack daily for 3 consecutive weeks. Easy enough, right? Well, they also ask that you take it 30 minutes prior to exercise on training days…and take it on an empty stomach between meals on non-training days. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but definitely not the simplest testosterone booster we’ve ever tried.
In terms of cash value, Animal Stak is nothing unusual. Since they recommend you only spend 3 weeks on their supplement, this should last you a month. At a little more than $1.00 a day per month, the price is pretty standard.
The best price we found for a 21 packs was $31.95 at IllPumpYouUp.com.
Before we delve into this section of the review, it’s important to understand that there is a difference between testosterone boosters and pro-hormones.
Pro-hormones are designed to mimic anabolic steroids, with usually less than ideal results. Testosterone boosters are a bit different. They certainly aren’t marketed as an alternative to steroids, and they don’t function the same way either. Testosterone boosters are often seen as using natural ingredients to support the natural testosterone levels in the body.
While this is certainly an interesting concept (natural strength increases? Sign us up!), it’s also very hit-or-miss. Some testosterone boosters are actually pretty effective and useful, while others are…not as effective.
Animal Stak falls somewhere in the middle of the spectrum, with some people saying that it’s utterly useless and others swearing by its effectiveness. After carefully researching and personally experimenting with Animal Stak during our Animal Stak review, we can honestly say that it works…sort of. We say ‘sort of’ because we know plenty of people that had no success with Animal Stak, something to keep in mind. While we didn’t experience anything close to the results that they brag about, we definitely noticed some gains in strength (most notably our benches and squats).
Our only serious complaint? Too many blends. Seriously, it’s ridiculous with this stuff. It’s anyone’s guess as to how much of each ingredient is in each pill. If you’re as serious about this as we are, we’re sure this will grind your gears. If you’re just looking for something that could work and you’re not really into the science behind it, give this a shot.
Nothing too intense here; don’t use if you’re under 18 (seriously guys, we know you want to get strong as soon as possible, but give it some time. Stick to the basics: eat well, train consistently, and get a good night’s rest…you’d be amazed at the progress you’d make if you just did that every day for a few years). Don’t use if you’re pregnant or nursing and, of course, consult your physician before using this product.
- When it works.. it works well
- Pretty inexpensive
- Inconsistent effectiveness
- Excessive use of blends
Animal Stak – Our Verdict:
Obviously, Animal Stak is not a revolutionary testosterone booster that is going to take the fitness industry by storm. In fact, this supplement is pretty average; something may come as a surprise to people coming from the company that made Animal Pak. But, if you’re a fan of the Animal brand and want to see if testosterone boosters are for you, go ahead and give Animal Stak a try.
